Chocolate Orange Energy Bites

Description

This recipe comes together really quickly and is full of skin-loving ingredients like chocolate and oranges. Whip up a double or triple batch and keep them in the refrigerator for an easy grab-and-go snack, or the perfect school snack for the kiddos.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 8 dates
  • ¼ cup raw cacao powder
  • ¼ cup chia seeds
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Halve the dates and remove the pits.
  2. Zest the oranges.
  3. In a food processor, pulse to combine the oats, dates, cacao powder, and chia seeds.
  4. Add the orange zest, orange juice, vanilla, and chocolate chips (if using).
  5. Pulse to combine, until it forms a ball.
  6. Roll into 12 balls and place on a plate and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Notes

Variation Tip

The orange zest adds a strong flavor, if you’re not a fan, simply use the zest from one orange instead of both.
