If you react to healthy foods, you know your digestion needs some love.
But why you have symptoms and how you address them matter if you want to heal.
So if you’ve been tested and diagnosed with SIBO, the question becomes – how should you address it?
Let me clarify that it’s important to never self-diagnose this bacteria overgrowth. Why? Because what type of bacteria are overgrown makes a huge difference in how it’s treated. Check out this article to learn more about SIBO.
And I’m going to be really honest – addressing SIBO takes time and patience.
I know it’s scary. Often you’re left on your own after your diagnosis with an arm full of supplements or antibiotics and little other guidance. And that’s why I’ve put together this article to help you out!
How to Manage Your SIBO After Diagnosis
- Work closely with an experienced SIBO practitioner. This is a non-negotiable. I’ve had too many clients come to me in worse shape because of following Dr. Google’s advice. Or, from working with a practitioner inexperienced with SIBO.
- Be diligent about following your protocol. Follow whatever antibiotics, supplements, and nutrition guidelines your practitioner has given you. And stick with them! It takes time to heal and rebuild from SIBO. Trust your practitioner and stick with the plan until you’re given the green light.
- Finish the healing stage before moving on. One of the biggest challenges of tackling SIBO is finishing the job. As you start feeling better and symptoms subside, it’s easy to stop following the protocol. But that will lead you right back to where you started! Instead, work with your practitioner and complete the healing process. This will prevent SIBO from returning and have you feeling “normal” again.
