Since writing The One-Pot Alkaline Diet Cookbook, I’ve been getting lots of emails and DM’s asking questions about the alkaline diet. While it can seem confusing, once you get a grasp on it you realize it’s a simple concept with a pretty simple solution.
The book goes into a more detailed overview of the alkaline diet, but for now I’ll do my best to cover some of your questions here.
Q: What is the alkaline diet?
A: Simply put, the alkaline diet uses food to support the body’s natural acid-alkaline balance (pH balance) while reducing its acidic load to help support a healthy body.
Q: Who should eat an alkaline diet?
A: The alkaline diet can be beneficial for everyone as it encourages more plant-based foods which increases nutrient and fibre intake. Anyone can benefit from including more alkaline foods in their diet.
Q: What foods can I eat on an alkaline diet?
A: The alkaline diet is plant-based and gluten-free. A comprehensive list of alkaline foods to enjoy and acidic foods to avoid is included in my book.
Q: How hard is it to eat the alkaline way?
A: It can feel overwhelming, complicated, and restricted – but not with my book! In this book I make the alkaline diet easy by providing 100 recipes that are all completely alkaline. Each recipe is made in only one-pot, uses 10 easy-to-find ingredients (or less!), and requires around 10 minutes of prep. Simply add some of these recipes into your weekly rotation and you’re doing your body and health a huge favour.
Q: Should I eat a 100% alkaline diet?
A: No! I actually don’t recommend a 100% alkaline diet unless it’s being used therapeutically under the supervision of your healthcare practitioner. This book is a great resource to add-in to your life to help balance the acidity from some of your normal eating patterns, but my book explains how to use it in a more balanced way.
