  • Author: Sharisse Dalby
  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 cups 1x

Description

Smooth, creamy, and oh-so-easy – you’ll never buy store-bought hummus again! It pairs perfectly with vegetables, pita slices, or tortilla chips. And it also works great in a sandwich or on a salad!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 24 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 14 oz can organic chickpeas, drained and rinsed

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, pulse the tahini, lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of oil, water, garlic, and sea salt until smooth.
  2. Add in the chickpeas and mix on high for 3-5 minutes, or until it becomes a smooth consistency.
  3. Mix in more water, as needed, to thin it out if you prefer.
  4. Drizzle with the remaining olive oil and serve.

Notes

Variation Tip

Flavour with your favourite herbs and spices. Try dill, cumin, chili, and even pumpkin spice!
